Portland’s Mac Computer User Group
Support for Mac Hardware and Software

The Portland Macintosh Users Group (PMUG) is a Portland/Vancouver (Oregon/Washington USA) Mac computer support group. The members have joined together to provide mutual support for the ever-changing world of Mac hardware and software. They support the entire line of Mac computers including iPods & iPhones.

If you just bought an Apple product and need help with your new computer, iPhone, etc. we want to help you make it a fun and satisfying experience. Sure these high-tech devices can sometimes seem frustrating to use-we’ll do our best to help you to get up and running with your new device. PMUG (and other MUGs around the country) are a great place to meet other Mac users to get your Mac gear up and running the way it should be-simple and easy to use. PMUG is a network of people at all levels of expertise who were once just like you, a new user. You'll find that many members share your interests and can advise you on making just the right hardware and software choices. Here are some photos of PMUG activities on our Flickr page.

PMUG Events and Services

PMUG College - Free classes for members. Basic through advanced instruction on how to use your new computer or iOS device. You’ll have access to the latest software and hardware information and discounts.

Monthly General Meetings - An entertaining mix of a pre-meeting Q&A session hosted by local Mac tech experts, product demos, raffles, and a general sharing of information. These meetings are open to non-members. The General Meeting’s are held at Ecotrust Center at 721 NW Ninth Avenue, Portland, OR, on the second Monday of each month from 6:30 PM to about 9:00 PM.

Tuesday Night Clinic - free tech-support events for members - see calendar HERE.

PMUG Community Forum - direct access to other PMUG members as well as upcoming events, articles, for sale items, and on-line help files.
MacCamp - Twice a year many PMUG members journey to Silver Falls State Park for a MUG members only weekend retreat that includes classes, recreation, game networking, and social activities. Four lodges hold up to 56 people, there’s a meeting hall and dining facilities. All classes, activities, food, and lodging are included in your registration fee. Members of another MUG don’t need to join PMUG-all user group members come for the same price. To get a feel for what MacCamp is all about take a look at Loren Leed’s MacCamp attendees video interviews.

Mouse Tracks - PMUG’s award-winning monthly journal is sent to subscribing members. This locally written and -published magazine includes Mac news, product reviews, user tips, club news, and a calendar. For several years I contributed cover art and articles describing how they were produced-there’s more info about the covers in the MT Gallery section of my site.
